| 0 Summary of Activities: January - March 2011 | |||
| * Capacity & Skills Building Trainings for Village Women | |||
| The DFW continues to implement capacity building programs out in communities targeting village women as a means to achieve communal economic sustainability. | |

| These trainings include garment printing, handicraft production, vegetable garden establishment, as well as sewing. The following villages received technical training for these three (3) months: 000000 |

| * Ongoing monitoring visits of villages under the Tsunami Response Relief Project | |||
Since the inception phase of this project, financial provisions to further support women and young people in the twenty four (24) tsunami affected villages was realized under the government's supplementary budget support for livelihood restoration and rehabilitation of Women'sCommittee Houses and Pre-school buildings. |

| To date, the DFW in collaboration with the DFY continues to monitor the implementation progress of community based projects, which include infrastructure, vegetable gardens & youth livelihood initiatives. For these 3 months, the following villages were visited: | |||

ANM Monitoring Visits | ||
| The DFW also continues to conduct its monitoring visits in villages under the ANM program. Components which continue to be assessed are the hygienic & safe standard of dwelling areas, kitchens & toilets. Visits also include the monitoring of whether families have established vegetable gardens & whether homes are smoke free as a means to promote nutrition & smoke free living environments. For this quarter, the following villages were visited: | |||
| Participation in MOH National Health Fair | |||
The DFW along with DFIA & DFY participated in the National Health Fair which is spearheaded by the Ministry of Health. DFW placed initial focus on informing participants on CEDAW & CRC & the roles & responsibilities of the MWCSD as the national focal point for the advancement of women & protection children. It was also an opportunity to provide basic training on sewing machine repair, mat weaving & handicraft production. The DFW joined this initiative in the following villages: |
