0 Community Centred Sustainable Development Programme (CCSDP)
 
000 The CCSDP framework has been adopted as the implementation framework for the
00 development also of village sustainable development plans for all the tsunami
00 affected villages. In 2010, the CCSDP project will therefore focus not only on the
00 implementation of the CCSDP initiated activities for the pilot villages of Lano,
  00 Manono Tai and Mutiatele and Malaela, but will also be looking at implementing
  00 activities of the Early Recovery Programme Strategy.  
     
    In addition to the CCSDP pilot villages, three tsunami affected villages have
0 00
completed developing sustainable village plans. These are Lotoipue, Saleaumua
    and Satitioa. From July 2010, Utufaalalafa, 0Ulutogia, Vailoa and Lalomanu will
    develop their village plans. The process will continue until all 23 tsunami affected
    villages are provided for, through the CCSDP/ERP Workplan and Strategy.
     
    The ERP Strategy consisted of three key components, which would provide
    guidance to implementation at the different villages. These components included:
    (i) Developing a Holistic/coordinated geographical implementation in the isolated (6 villages) Piggeries are less of a pollution threat to the reef system if
      located away from the coastal environment
    (ii) Complimenting the GoS Tourism Tsunami Recovery Project (TTRP) through providing labor  
    combined with training and greening concept [i.e. composting (waste management) and
    coastal fetau planting (bio shields)] in affected villages with beach fales as well as identifying
    and implementing specific local level livelihood interventions (10 villages)
     
    (iii) Working with participating line ministries, to identify and implement specific local level
    livelihood interventions (rest of the 5 tsunami villages)
